What I learned so far

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

It has been more that 2 weeks now since I first got hold of my new camera. I am still learning about the settings. At the moment, I haven't gone full manual mode yet. I am only playing with the aperture setting on my camera. I joined a Malaysian based Photography Forum (Shutter Asia Forum) and they guys there have been very helpful.

I am currently learning a lot based on the two link below. I would highly recommend them to all beginners like me out there.

I have learnt a great deal from the two links about. Thanks to ShaolinTiger of Shutter Asia for providing me those links.

I have taken a few pictures using my new Nikon D60 but somehow some of the picture quality is not so good. What I learnt was to get a good picture while adjusting the aperture, a steady hand or tripod is a must. Below are two pictures that I took.

Nikon D60

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Last weekend (30 March 2008), my brother, my girlfriend and myself was as Amcorp Mall, Petaling Jaya. We were there to do some window shopping. It was during this time that I turned to my girlfriend and ask if I can get a SLR camera for myself. At first she was hesitant to give me the permission, but after some gentle persuasion (and bribing) I managed coax her to follow me to a camera shop situated in Amcorp Mall.

The shop is J One Camera Service. It is located at the Ground Floor of Amcorp Mall. Before I go further, this purchase is not an impulse buy. I have been wanting a SLR camera for quite some time already. I have do my research on the web and also had asked around some of my friends and relatives with regards to this matter.

Jason (the owner of J One) is a friendly guy. He knew I was a newbie and he took the effort and time to help me understand digital SLR camera. Finally it was time to decide... It was either a Nikon D40 of Nikon D60. I decided to take the D60.

I am still going thru the manual slowly. Trying to understand how to use the camera. So far, I have only take pictures using the preset mode on the camera. Haven't really tried to mess around with the other settings. Will keep you all updated on any new development.

As for now, enjoy the pictures below of my new camera.
